Abstract

Matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization and time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry (TOF-SIMS) was used to investigate the effects of initial sec-butyllithium concentrations on the relative amounts of siloxanolate initiating species. The results have shown MALDI to be a more reproducible method for determining relative intensities than TOF-SIMS.
