Abstract

The magnetoanisotropy of free excitons in strained Zn1-xMnxSe epilayers (x≤0.15) grown on GaAs substrates was studied at 4.2 K and in magnetic fields up to 8 T in the Voigt geometry. A reversal in the sequence of the light-hole exciton components was observed for x=0.15 in the Faraday geometry. These results can be explained by considering the effects of strain on the valance band.
