Abstract

A low power Nd:KGW CW microchip laser with potassium titanium phosphate (KTP) nonlinear crystal for intracavity doubling is presented. From the input-output characteristics of the laser, a maximum slope efficiency of approximately 2% for 270 mW incident pump power is achieved. The microchip laser is stable working at transmission electron microscopy00 (TEM00) mode due to its short cavity and short KTP crystal content. The application of a 10x beam expander resulted to the divergence of output beam less than 1 mrad.
