Abstract
An extension of the Lee model in quantum field theory is presented which has some of the features of mesic atoms. The model has three fermions V, N1, and N2, and two bosons 1 and 2, which interact according to VN±+±, ±=1,2. There is also a pair interaction between an N± and ± particle which can produce atomic bound states whose energies are shifted and broadened by the interaction VN±+±, ±=1,2. The T matrix for N-± scattering is obtained in closed form, and its bound state and decaying or resonant state poles are investigated. NUCLEAR REACTIONS Model quantum field theory for mesic atoms.
