Abstract

The low-power LD end-pumped cw laser with a new Nd-doped active medium Nd:LBGM(Li3Ba2Gd3(MoO4)8:Nd3+) has been presented. The broad and strong absorption band in this crystal at λ approximately 805 nm, makes it quite suitable for laser diode pumping. The LBGM has the following advantages, namely, high growth speed under lower temperature, crystal topology allows doping with high concentration level with almost all rare-earth ions used as activator and sensibilizator, and high lattice structure perfection.
