Abstract

The present study continues with the development of a conceptual mission consisting of two identical spacecraft with the intent to venture out into interstellar space beyond the Kuiper Belt and where the heritage mission Voyager resides as of January 2026 within 20 years. The IRMA mission is developed to revolutionize the scientific understanding of the universe (i.e., searching for extraterrestrial life, understanding planetary formation, improving models of the Solar System, etc.). Coupling a heavy launch vehicle and a detachable propulsion module system, IRMA mission can achieve the fastest interstellar travel time. Additionally, the spacecraft is designed to house enhanced technology and a new set of robust scientific payloads to increase the domain of scientific research conducted upon reaching the Interstellar Medium at 120 AU while also furthering the ability to reach other objects and destinations far beyond the Solar System in one lifetime by expanding the knowledge of the interstellar region.
