Abstract

Students often interpret their communities as the school context, however, exploring the wider range of their communities, especially in the context of seeking culturally diverse and multicultural environments is crucial. Here we investigate the Linguistic Landscape (LL) of Buffalo NY, which is home to many universities. The goal is to foster critical thinking and multicultural competence, to empower linguistically diverse students to recognize their language and cultural heritage, and to promote equity for all students.
