Abstract
This book is divided into three sections, and brief section introductions precede each group of chapters in order to highlight the major themes that emerge from each case study. These sections organize the chapters according to themes of discourses of belonging, political mobilization, and "new spaces" of citizenship. Cases from the United States and from Europe are grouped together to underscore differences and similarities in immigrant civic engagement across national borders.
