Abstract

The inverse scattering theory for the sine-Gordon equation discretized in space and both in space and time was considered. Two summation equations which defined couple of Jost solutions and characterized by their asymptotic behavior were introduced. The conditions on the potential that ensured the existence and analyticity properties of the Jost solutions were found.
