Abstract
Results of experiments, conduced as a part of a series of studies, aimed to evaluate the visual inspection of flat glass for faults, are presented. A model combining visual search and decision theory is postulated and tested on the inspection of flat glass for discrete faults. The findings were used to derive model parameters and the model to be used in predicting the performance in the factory situation.
