Abstract
The multidisciplinary challenges of craniofacial care have motived surgeons and scientists to create innovative solutions. Over the years, technological advancements in computing and manufacturing have been leveraged and repurposed for use in craniofacial surgery. Surgical plans are now able to be virtually simulated, reducing the reliance on traditional analog records. The successful execution of these plans is accomplished using custom cutting and positioning guides and templates, and in some cases, custom fixation. Unique challenges exist when considering cranial, midfacial, and mandibular reconstruction in the growing patient. This chapter discusses the management of common craniofacial conditions and the contemporary treatments that are available to address them.
