Abstract
A hybrid near-field fluorescence microscopy combining near-field scanning microscopy and photon scanning tunneling microscopy was demonstrated. The near-field fluorescence microscope was developed for high density optical data storage. The hybrid microscope provided real-time error detection and simultaneous high-density writing and high-resolution readout. It was possible to minimize background interference and high image contrast with one-photon writing and two-photon readback.
