N2 - The service sector of enterprise is increasing in size compared to manufacturing. To properly serve enterprises and individuals, Human Factors / Ergonomics (HFE) needs to be ahead of this trend rather than catching up. The IETG has a long history of theory and intervention endeavors in manufacturing and also in service industries. This paper provides data on the importance of service industries, and how a broader practice of industrial ergonomics can provide more impact on the enterprise and its workforce.
