Abstract

A half-mode hexagonal substrate integrated waveguides (HMHSIW) structure with the internal angle of 90 degrees is presented and then applied in realizing a low-profile, dual-band/tri-polarized antenna with three independent ports. Dual-band composite right/left-handed (CRLH) substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) antennas and zeroth order resonator (ZOR) SIW antennas are designed based on the proposed HMHSIW to efficiently integrate the antennas while ensuring overall side reduction and providing enhanced design freedom.
