Abstract

Transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) can modulate corticomuscular coherence and reaction time of the targeted muscle during a single-muscle ballistic myoelectric control where anodal tDCS of the primary motor cortex (M1) leg representation decreased the reaction time while the cerebellar tDCS (ctDCS) increased the same. In this study, we present corticomuscular coherence changes due to anodal leg M1 tDCS and ctDCS. We also present a grey-box model that explained the tDCS effects on the reaction time in healthy humans where tDCS effects were captured by a Boltzmann function.
