Abstract
This paper describes a system to compute geometric information to aid the interventionalist in making treatment plans directly from information about the 3D vasculature that is obtained from multiple view 2D angiograms. In the proposed system, vessel surface reconstruction is performed from point/contour data without user intervention. Utilizing geometric parameters inherent in the reconstructed 3D vasculature, three important metrics are computed, namely: Curvatures, tortuosities and stent fitness measures. Such a system could provide support data during the procedure necessary to improve safety and efficacy of neuroendovascular interventions. Results of the proposed metrics computed using clinical datasets are presented.
