Abstract
This paper describes a framework for generating variant samples of a handwritten cursive string based on Hollerbach's Oscillation Theory of Handwriting. A single cursive word is analyzed. Significant features of the word are extracted from the velocity profile of the pen movement. These features are used to generate several samples of the same word. The proposed framework for sample generation can be applied only to continuous cursive strings.
