Abstract
A system which makes use of a microcomputer to measure the muzzle velocity of each and every projectile fired through a gun in a continuous burst of known length is presented. The system consists of three major parts: the photo-detector, the digital interface circuitry, and the software. The system, when applied to the measurement of a projectile flying at about 1000 M/S, claims an accuracy of plus or minus 0. 5 M/S.
