Abstract

A review on fracture and satellite hyperspectral analysis for petroleum exploration was presented. The remote sensing technique enables correlating fracture density and productivity, orienting horizontal wells, finding vegetation differences related to fracture zones and focusing seismic surveys. It is suggested that one can use satellite data to focus more expensive exploration tools in search for fractured reservoirs.
