Abstract
The thermoelectric behavior of flexible graphite was studied. The flexible graphite was found to be more thermally conductive in the in-plane direction than in the out-of-plane direction. The through-thickness absolute thermoelectric power of flexible graphite was found to be -2.6 μV per°C near room temperature. The thermoelectric power effect and the flexibility of the material are reported to make the thermoelectric phenomenon potentially useful for temperature sensing and electric power generation.
