Finite element modeling of the injection blow molding process

Abstract

A computer-based simulation of blow molding inflation has been developed which qualitatively describes several known aspects of the process. The development of this program is an important first step toward the goal of providing quantitative tool for the design of preforms. Case studies illustrate potential inflation instability phenomenon.
