Abstract

This paper reports droplet-based microfluidic devices for simultaneous droplet generation and sorting by synchronized high switching frequency of electrostatic actuation. This device combines two different processes; one is two phase droplet formation and the other is droplet sorting with electrostatic actuation using high DC voltage. Different electrostatic actuation frequencies could result in fast, robust and simultaneous sorting with droplet generation.
