Abstract
Sexual and gender identities are ever evolving within communities, social movements, and scholarly research. This study of 662 queer and transgender participants examined issues of identity and outness. The findings indicate that minoritized individuals within queer communities (e.g., bisexual) and within transgender communities (e.g., genderqueer) were less out than other community members. More research examining the outness, belongingness, and identity of less visible gender and sexual identity groups or those who identify as minoritized within SGM communities (e.g., genderqueer, asexual) is needed. Implications for practice are shared.
