Abstract
The Endologix AFX is a unique stent graft system for treatment of abdominal aortic aneurysm. AFX is the only stent graft that sits on the aortic bifurcation to provide anatomic fixation, thus maintaining the native bifurcation. Another unique feature of the stent graft is its fabric, which is externally mounted and attached only to the proximal and distal ends of the stent. This allows the fabric to move independently from the stent conforming to varied shapes of the aortic neck and bifurcation. Its special design poses unique challenges and can lead to complications distinct from other stent grafts. In this chapter, we discuss the characteristics of the AFX stent graft and tips and techniques to prevent and treat complications.
