Abstract

In Nature Energy , the authors present an electrified, reversible method for CO2 mineralization from the air using manganese oxide at pH 7. It achieves energy consumption as low as 4.1 GJ/tonCO2. This oxygen-insensitive, scalable approach surpasses traditional direct air capture technologies by overcoming durability issues and energetic constraints inherent in pH-swing systems.
