Abstract

An analysis is presented concerning creep bending of circular plates with a randomly varying temperature distribution. Analytical and numerical results are presented on the statistical properties of the radial moment, circumferential moment, and lateral deflection. It is shown that the radial and tangential moments are relatively insensitive to random variations in the temperature distribution. The statistical distribution of the lateral deflection is derived analytically in a simple and general form.
