Effect of intratracheal administration of manganese dioxide on liver and brain enzymes activities in rat (Polish)

Abstract

ATP phosphohydrolases, monoamine oxidases, cholinesterases, and succinate and isocitrate oxidases activities were determined in male Wistar rats intratracheally intoxicated with manganese dioxide in a single dose of 200 mg per Kg body weight, dispersed in 0.9% sodium chloride solution. Moreover, MnO2 effect on oxidative phosphorylation in rat liver and brain mitochondria was studied. Results are reported to show some changes of enzymes activities and a decrease of oxidative phosphorylation efficiency.
