Dynamics-based robust attitude estimation

Abstract

A method is described for obtaining optimal attitude estimation algorithms for spacecraft lacking attitude rate measurement devices (rate gyros). Absence of rate data may result either from intentional design or from unexpected failure of existing gyros.
