Distance-adaptive and fragmentation-aware optical traffic grooming in flexible grid optical networks

Abstract

We propose the first distance-adaptive and fragmentation-aware optical traffic grooming algorithm in flexible grid optical networks. The algorithm achieves at least 14% spectrum savings and 13% transponder savings compared to the existing algorithms.
