Abstract
Acute disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) has been reported following thrombus formation in various clinical settings. A patient developed DIC due to the formation of a large intracapsular hematoma following percutaneous renal biopsy. To our knowledge, this complication has not been previously reported. The coagulopathy was reversed by surgical removal of the hematoma. This diagnosis should be considered in patients with bleeding after renal biopsy.
