Abstract
The diffusional deposition in a curved tube is investigated theoretically and the results show good agreement with experimental data obtained by Bell (1974). It is shown that the deposition flux per unit tube length based on heat transfer analogy yields values higher than both Bell's experimental data and our calculated values. The increase in diffusional particle deposition in the human respiratory airways due to secondary swirling motion in a curved tube is also discussed.
