abstract = "Miniaturized dual band/ dual polarized metamaterial antenna for simultaneous information and power transfer application is proposed and designed in this paper. The superior radiation pattern and electrical small size of this antenna are results of the composite right/left-hand (CRLH) substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) artificial operation. Miniaturized single polarized SIW resonant type antenna has been previously proposed [1]. However dual polarized antennas are less sensitive to incident fields with varying polarization, thus can greatly increase overall power reception efficiency [2]. In order to minimize the polarization mismatch the proposed dual polarization antenna is preferred. This antenna is fed by two orthogonal ports and realized by altering the electrical field of a planar SIW with interdigital slots on the surface to provide a CRLH response. The concept is validated with simulation and measurement results including resonance frequency and radiation pattern.",
