Abstract
Thus, the detergent system has a nutritional basis for the fractionation of food components. The neutral detergent (ND) system has undergone many changes from its inception for use with ruminant forages to human foods. A major advantage of the ND procedure for dietary fiber analysis is that microbial material is soluble.
