Abstract

This paper surveys three areas of rapid technology advancement that have the potential for significant improvements in data fusion/C3MIS systems over the next decade: (1) the area of Tracker-Correlators to achieve consistent tracking performance over a wide range of target and background conditions; (2) symbolic computational methods and artificial intelligence techniques which provide perceptual interpretation, intelligent reasoning, and learning capabilities for fusion; and (3) parallel and highly-connected processor/memory architectures which enhance the speed, fault-tolerance and associative capabilities of data fusion system implementations.
