Abstract

We report a simple means of homogenizing an intrinsically inhomogeneous beam after it has passed through an electro-optic modulator. The frequency response of the multifrequency fluorometer is essentially unaffected by using the short length of fiber optic. This simple device shows promise when used for the study of species adsorbed or covalently affixed to various substrata (e.g., optical fiber sensors).
