Abstract

The authors describe converters of TF-5 lead glass and their use in the streamer chamber of the RISK magnetic spectrometer for study of the interaction of negative pions with a momentum of 38 GeV/c with nuclei. Unlike in previous experiments, in which the converters were used only for identification of electrons and gamma quanta, the energies of the gamma quanta were measured, which permit reconstruction of the momentum and angle spectra of mesons.
