Abstract

We report measurements of the thermal conductance and dissipation of a ⁴He film near the superfluid transition. Our results are in qualitative agreement with theoretical predictions, but differ in detail. Comparison with parameters obtained from torsional oscillator measurements shows agreement in the correlation length parameter b, but a possible disagreement in the magnitude of the diffusion constant D.
