Abstract
Digital photogrammetry involves ultimately all lelvels of the computer vision and machine perception paradigm. Despite all the progress in vision and digital photogrammetry, we believe that there is still a considerable lack of understanding of theories and methods which would allow the development of a machine capable of automatically producing maps, for example. In this paper we address problems of automating photogrammetric processes on digital photogrammetric workstations. After presenting our conceptual system, we describe the automatic orientation and the surface reconstruction module, followed by examples. -from Authors
