Abstract
The cholinomimetic activities of acetylcholine, cis‐2‐methyl‐4‐dimethylamino‐methyl‐1,3‐dioxolane methiodide, N‐methyl‐6,8‐dioxa‐3‐azabicyclo[3.2.1]octane methiodide, and N‐methyl‐7,9‐dioxa‐3‐azabicyclo[4.2.1]nonane methiodide have been compared and an interpretation of their relative activities in terms of a conformation of receptor‐bound cholinomimetic molecules has been put forward. N‐Methyl‐7,9‐dioxa‐3‐azabicyclo[4.2.1]nonane methiodide has been shown to have some acetylcholine releasing activity.
