Abstract

The application of cement-based electronics for the use of concrete structures related to electronic functions is discussed. The electrical circuit elements provided by cement-based electronics are: electric conductors; semiconductor diodes; strain sensors; damage sensors; thermistors; and thermoelectric devices. Cement-matrix composites containing short carbon fibers, short steel fibers and silica fume provide improved structural properties required for various cement-based electronic devices.
