abstract = "The addition of nickel coated short carbon fibers in the amount of about 14 vol.\% to silver-copper provided a composite brazing material which allowed the joining of alumina to stainless steel without metallization of the alumina. The fibers served to increase the debonding strength of the joint by > 840\%. The composite brazing material was a laminate formed by sandwiching a paste containing Ag-Cu powder, fibers and a binder between two Ag-Cu sheets.",
