Abstract
We report the results of a calculation of the total cross section for double Compton scattering (γ+e→γ+γ+e). At very high incident photon energies the total cross section for double Compton scattering becomes larger than that for the usual Compton effect (γ+e→γ+e) even though the latter is a lower order process.
