Abstract
Definitions of bullying and peer victimization are reviewed along with a brief history of research on these topics. Notable developmental theories that have guided research in this field are highlighted. Key findings, assessment techniques, and future directions are presented for the study of both bullying and peer victimization during early childhood. The limited evidence for interventions addressing bullying and/or general peer victimization among young children is discussed.
