Abstract
Feasibility of a two-step approach amenable to continuous synthesis of binder free electrode is illustrated using Co-Mn composite oxide. The combined electroless-electrolytic (EE) technique can be applied to conductive or non-conductive substrate. Illustrative thin-film Co-Mn electrode produced by EE method when applied in Li-air battery yielded an initial capacity up to 2000 mA h g?1 at 1.75 A g?1. The same electrode was capacitive with a specific capactiance (SC) of 830 F g?1 and 350 F g?1 at scan rates of 20 mV s?1 and 250 mV s?1, respectively. EE synthesized electrode showed excellent capacity and capacitance retention on cycling.
