Abstract
This paper describes work presently underway at the Turbulence Research Laboratory, Faculty of Engineering and Applied Sciences, State University of New York at Buffalo. The object of this program is partly to develop correct data analysis algorithms and software for bias-free estimation of statistical flow quantities based on randomly arriving LDA-counter data, partly to serve as a pilot program for the design of a larger experimental facility for jet noise studies, now in its initial phase. The basic philosophy behind the development of data analysis programs is described.
