Abstract

Being together for the past eight years as lovers, life-partners, and more recently as sister professors in different disciplines and institutions has taught us a lot about the importance of honesty, self-preservation, and learning how to genuinely be ourselves as individuals, as professionals, and as a couple. The words of Audre Lorde frequently support and remind us of the importance of moving beyond our silence and entering into dialogues with each other, our students, and other members of the higher education community.
