Avoiding Peri- and Postoperative Management After Total Knee Arthroplasty

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapterpeer-review

Abstract

Periprosthetic joint infection, stiffness, instability and mechanical failure of an endoprosthesis remain the most frequent modes of failure after total knee arthroplasty (TKA). Lifelong clinical and radiographic follow-up is required to ensure appropriate function of the prosthesis and to prevent complications. Pain management and routine postoperative antibiotic prophylaxis remain controversial topics.
