Abstract

Autogenous vein, primarily the great saphenous vein, remains the conduit of choice for infrainguinal bypass. Other autogenous options are available but their use is more limited. Successful outcomes using autogenous vein grafts depend on a thorough understanding and implementation of various preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative factors.
