Abstract
In this paper the applications of ultrasound to pollutants destruction are reviewed. It is shown that this innovative treatment process is promising for contaminants destruction and may be useful at remote sites with intermittent flows, since no chemical addition is required. It is emphasized that the process economics is poorly understood and the sonochemical rectors efficiency is not scale up to correlate best with pollutant destruction rates.
