Abstract

The authors describe an optical comparator for the estimation of the density of radiographic quality-assurance test films. The comparator is inexpensive to construct and simple to use. The density estimation is based on a visual comparison of the test film with a reference film strip and provides a sensitivity that is sufficient for most daily monitoring checks.
